Dosage of the active ingredients of ginseng: ginsenosides and saponins

Blog / Food Industry / Dosage of active ingredients in ginseng: ginsenosides and saponins

Ginsenosides, also known as saponins, are the main active substances in ginger. The quality of a ginger extract is generally measured by the concentration of these molecules. These molecules possess energizing and tonic properties.

How can I measure the quality of my product?

Different levels of ginsenosides are generally highlighted on food products:

  • Between 5 and 10 mg/gram: poor quality ginseng extract
  • Between 10 and 15 mg/gram: very good ginseng extract. The maximum concentration of a ginseng extract is 15 mg/g.

How to verify their presence in your product?

YesWeLab and its partners are able to measure ginsenosides within your food matrices:

  • Raw materials,
  • Specialized nutrition,
  • Honey,
  • etc.

Ginsenoside quantification is performed by HPLC PE.

  • Analytical unit: mg/100 g of product
  • Uncertainties: on request
